What was it?
A day long deep dive into everything related to sound quality on the clarinet!
Everyone wants to sound better, and the most common questions that people always ask me are related to their struggles with sound quality. Which makes perfect sense because, as much as I love long tones, there is a little more to playing with great sound than just doing long tones and hoping to magically find the perfect reed and equipment (of course, the second most asked questions are always about equipment).
My mission is to help remove your frustrations and help you get more joy out of your clarinet, so I took a full day to unpack all aspects of sound quality to give you a clear path toward getting your clarinet to sing!
And the results people got were awesome!
We start with the theory of why sound matters and a deep dive on the physics of clarinet sound.
This will help you get a clear idea of how you want to sound, how the sound works, and most importantly how to get that sound out of the instrument, in an easy to understand way!
One of my main philosophies is that you can have all of the information, but until you implement it you won't improve...
So, we also take all the theory and put it into practice as I share some of my favorite exercises and tools that I use to find my best sound every time I play. As well as a Sound Quality Procedure you can do each time you practice to get the sound dialed in.
